Expectations and Workflows

• I expect that all students will arrive on time for class. Arriving late often distracts students and delays the class.

• Please boot up and sign in to your laptops when first arriving to class.

• You must bring your laptop to every class meeting and it should contain all your completed lab exercises, in-class activities, and projects.

• The name you should assign each exercise and activity can be found listed in the assignment instructions. Exercises, activities, and projects should be organized in a way that allows you to quickly find the solution you need.

• Since best practice in learning to code emphasizes applying concepts to applications, for each class meeting the instructor will first introduce the topic and provide examples or related material. After the demonstration period, students in class will be able to work on an assignment.

  • During the demonstration period, please be attentive to the instructor, rather than working on your laptop. Monitors should be closed or turned off.
